Account Management - What if I can't enter my old bank details when trying to change bank details?
Thanks for contacting eBay Customer Service. I'm Sattyajeet, please allow me a moment to review your details.
Hi, Timothy.. I see you opened this account 25 years ago. Thank you for your loyalty.
sure
I'm trying to change my payout bank account and your site is saying it can't verify my bank account
I can see you are getting an error message saying your bank account cannot be verified and you wish to update your payout method, am I correct?
yes
Thank you for the confirmation, please be assured that I'm here to check this and help you further.
Timothy, before I proceed further to help you with updating your payout method, I would need to do a verification process for security reasons.
Could you please help me with the 6 digit code sent to your registered phone number?
******
Thank you for confirming the pin. The verification is completed.
Timothy, could you please help me with the bank name and last 4 digits of the bank account number, which you are trying to add?
The official name is Bangor Savings Bank and the last 4 numbers are ****
Thank you for sharing the details. Could you please tell if this bank account is added to any other eBay account(s)?
it shouldn't be
Thank you for confirming that. I request you to allow me two minutes to check this for you.
Thank you for waiting. I appreciate your patience.
Timothy, I have reviewed the details and I can see that the bank account which you are trying to add is not compatible with our system, that is why you are getting the error message.
Here, I would recommend you to try adding a different bank account for payouts.
any idea why it wouldn't be compatible?
It is most probably because the bank is not supported with our Managed payments system and the financial institution is not on our allow list. I can send your details to the back end team for review, however, as per my research, even they might not be able to white list your account. However, I will send the details just in case.
In the meantime, the fastest resolution for you would be to to add a different bank account for payouts.
ok thank you
