"Apparently he's her connection in the police force. I told him about my boss
when we met on New Year's, then he went all 'Wait, are you talking about
Aozaki Touko?!' on me. Touko said that she couldn't refuse an invite from an
employee's family, so they're out on a date right now. Basically, he used me as
bait so that he could get to her," he grumbled, clearly discontent.
It certainly didn't require a stretch of the imagination to believe that Daisuke
was one of Ms. Touko's sources of information. He was known as an oddball
even within the First Investigation Division, so it actually made quite a bit of
sense.
